For the younger G4-G6 students, we will focus our curriculum on the ASA Statistics G4-G6 Poster Contest. We will highly recommend that students should take the following courses: (1) Youth Science and Analytics Level II, III, (2) Analytical Robotics Programming Level I, II, (3) IBM SPSS Statistics Cert Prep Level I, II, (4) ASA Statistics G4-G6 Poster Prep. We will use Robotics Science Project, Basic Statistics and Probability, SPSS Statistical Software to prepare for the ASA Statistics G4-G6 Poster Contest.

 
  

 

We will recommend the following curriculum flow chart. Students can take the courses from three curriculum programs. We will select the best available students and form several teams to compete the ASA Poster Contest due April 1st. The top G4-G6 students may also take the Project Management and join the G7-G9 team to compete the ASA Project Contest due June 1st. Each ASA team can allow up to four students. We will form teams in our Spring Program (Jan.-Mar.) to prepare for the ASA G4-G6 Poster Contest.

 
  

 

We have designed a very special Youth Science and Analytics Levels II, III for G4-G6 students. They will learn several Science Projects such as Robotics EV3, Helicopter, and Coin Measurement. Several analytics subjects are well elaborated in this program including: Basic Statistics, and Probability, Mental Math, SPSS Statistics, and Systematic Root Cause Analytics. We particularly extract the Math Elements which are more data-driven, statistics-oriented, practical and hands-on practice. Students will learn Science, Analytics, and Math in one combo curriculum. We emphasize the critical thinking, team building, problem solving, hands-on, and project management skills in each class. Kids will play statistical games and develop their strong statistics sense.

 
  

 

For example, in our Youth Science and Analytics program, we will use Helicopter Game to develop their hands-on practice. We will set the two competition criteria: (1) Longer landing time (stable flying), (2) Precise Landing Location (accurate flying). Kids will design their own Helicopters and optimize 8 helicopter Design Variables in order to achieve the two goals. Instructors will stimulate kids’ critical thinking and use SPSS software to optimize their Helicopter Design through applying the learned statistics and analytics. We will facilitate the team building and leadership process by providing the team brainstorming sessions and decision making process.

 
  

 

Robotics Science Project is our main Science Project for G4-G6 students in order to compete the ASA Statistics G4-G6 Poster Contest. We will use the Lego Mindstorms EV3 set to conduct the Robotics Science Project. 2-3 Students will share one Robotics Set. Each set will equip the Large/Medium Motors, Controller. Depends on the Project Complexity, we will provide several sensors including Color Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Ultrasonic Sensor, IR Sensor, Touch Sensor… Students will also learn how to design their Robot Architecture.

 
  

 

Our instructors will spend significant time to guide each student to become EV3 Programmer. Students will learn the most popular Blocks to design their EV3 software package in order to achieve Multi-Tasking. Students will learn how to use Data logging to download their sensor data into the SPSS software and use statistics to analyze the Robotics movement pattern in order to optimize both Hardware Architecture and Software EV3 Programming.

 
  

 

Design Robotics architecture and develop MindStorm EV3 software programming. Emphasize on the Robotics System (hardware and software) integration and design optimization. Use analytical data-driven approach to study the complicated Robotics motion pattern and use PID control to optimize the Robotics design objectively.
